How to Customize Which Stats Show in Tool Stats Tooltips
Open the Config
Tool Stats ships with a config file that controls which lines are rendered. You can edit it in two ways: through the in-game mod list (open the mods screen, select Tool Stats, and click the config button) or by editing the config file directly in your instance's config folder. Changes made in-game usually apply immediately; file edits require a restart or a config reload.
Toggle Individual Stats
Inside the config you will find separate options for each stat category — durability, mining speed, mining level, attack speed, and enchantability. Each is a simple on/off toggle. Turn off the ones you do not care about to shrink the tooltip. This is especially useful in large modpacks where tooltips already carry enchantment descriptions, durability bars, and mod-specific lore, and you want Tool Stats to add only one or two lines.
Hide Stats Until Relevant
Some options let you suppress a line until it matters — for example, hiding durability while the tool is at full health so the tooltip stays clean, then showing it once the tool is damaged. Enable that behavior if you find full-durability tools cluttering your inventory view.
Per-Item Overrides
If the config supports per-item or per-mod filtering, you can exclude specific tools or entire mods from showing stats. Use this when a particular mod already prints its own detailed tooltip and you do not want duplicate information.
