Tool Kit Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I get started with the Tool Kit Mod?
Just install the mod and use the /tk command in chat — there are no items to craft or blocks to place. Type /tk by itself to see the available subcommands, then try /tk hand while holding something to test it out.
What does /tk devenv actually do?
It toggles a clean building environment by turning off the daylight cycle, mob spawning and weather cycle, and setting the time to noon with clear weather. Run /tk devenv false to restore all those GameRules to their normal behavior.
Why does /tk hand sometimes print to chat and sometimes copy to clipboard?
With no argument, /tk hand prints the registry name and NBT of your held item to chat and also copies it to the clipboard. Adding the nocopy argument makes it print to chat only, without touching your clipboard.
How do I copy the data for everything in my inventory at once?
Use /tk inventory to copy the registry name and NBT of every item in your inventory to the clipboard. If you only want the hotbar, use /tk hotbar instead.
How does /tk oredist count ores?
You give it a dimension and an integer, and it counts ores within a radius based on a 16x16 area multiplied by that integer. It's useful for checking how dense an ore vein or mining area is before you commit to it.
Does the mod change the vanilla structure block size limit?
Yes, it raises the structure block's size limit well beyond vanilla and also increases the bounding box limit, so you can save and load much larger builds. The exact numbers are shown on the mod's description page.
My /tk command isn't working — what am I doing wrong?
Check that you're using the exact subcommand spelling and that you have permission to run commands (singleplayer or operator status on a server). Also make sure you're typing /tk with a space before the subcommand, not /tkhand or similar.
Can I use this mod on a server with other players?
The commands are server-side, so the mod needs to be installed on the server for them to work for everyone. Clients connecting to a server with the mod don't necessarily need it installed themselves unless they want the client-side features.
Will the Tool Kit Mod conflict with other command or building mods?
It uses its own /tk command namespace, so conflicts are unlikely unless another mod also registers /tk. Structure block changes could overlap with mods that alter the same block, so test alongside your other building mods if you see odd behavior.
Does the mod hurt performance or cause lag?
The commands run on demand, so they don't add ongoing tick overhead. Very large structure block operations or ore counting over a huge radius can cause a brief spike, so use reasonable values when running /tk oredist.
