Too Fast Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I know Too Fast Mod is actually working?
Move faster than the vanilla server limit allows, such as sprint-jumping or flying with elytra, and watch for the absence of "player moved too fast" messages or rubber-banding. If you still get snapped back or kicked, the mod isn't active on the server.
Do I need to install Too Fast Mod on the client too?
No. It's a server-side mod, so only the server needs it. Clients can join with an unmodified game and still benefit from the removed speed limits.
Why do I still get rubber-banded after installing Too Fast Mod?
Another plugin or mod is likely still enforcing its own speed checks, or the mod isn't loaded on the server. Check your server log for load confirmation and look for other movement-restricting plugins.
Can I use Too Fast Mod and Random Patches together?
No. Too Fast Mod is derived from Random Patches' speed limit code and the two conflict. Remove Random Patches or disable its speed limit feature before using Too Fast Mod.
Does Too Fast Mod work with elytra flight?
Yes. Elytra movement is one of the main things the mod unlimits, so fast gliding and rocket-boosted flight no longer trigger server-side speed kicks.
Will Too Fast Mod fix rubber-banding in boats, minecarts, or on horses?
Yes, it removes the server-side speed cap that causes rubber-banding in vehicles and mounts. Fast vehicle travel should no longer snap you back to a previous position.
Does Too Fast Mod affect other players or just me?
It applies server-wide, so every player on the server gets the removed speed limits. There's no per-player toggle built into the mod.
Is Too Fast Mod safe to use on a public server?
It removes anti-cheat-style speed checks, which can let players move faster than intended. On public or competitive servers, consider whether that fits your rules before enabling it.
Does Too Fast Mod cause lag or performance problems?
No, it only removes speed limit checks rather than adding processing. Performance impact is negligible, and it can actually reduce lag spikes caused by rubber-banding corrections.
Why does the mod not seem to do anything on my server?
Make sure it's installed on the server (not just the client) and that no conflicting mod like Random Patches is overriding it. Also confirm your server software actually loads the mod, since some setups silently skip it.
