Reduce Lag From Too Many Nametags

Identify the problem

When playing on crowded servers or in areas with many mobs and players, nametags can significantly impact your frame rate. Toggle Nametags Mod lets you disable them temporarily to recover FPS.

Quick performance fix

1. Press the minus (-) key to hide all player nametags

2. Press the equals (=) key to hide non-player entity nametags (mobs, armor stands, etc.)

3. Press the M key to hide the boss bar

Disabling all three elements removes the most common sources of nametag-related lag. The performance boost is often noticeable in areas with many entities.

Re-enable when needed

Press each key again to toggle nametags back on individually. You don't need to restore all three at once—enable only what you need. For example, you might keep player nametags hidden but restore mob nametags when exploring dangerous areas.
