How to Declutter a Build Using Hidden Item Frames

Plan Before You Hide

Walk through your build and decide which frames are decorative clutter and which are intentional displays. Frames holding maps, trophies, or labeled storage markers usually stay visible. Frames that were only placed to hold an item temporarily, or that sit in awkward spots like doorframes and ceiling corners, are good candidates for hiding.

Hiding in Batches

Go frame by frame with an empty hand. Sneak and right-click each one you want gone. Because the toggle is instant and per-frame, you can clear an entire wall in a minute or two. If you change your mind, the same sneak-right-click brings any frame back, so nothing is permanent.

Keeping Track

After hiding a batch, hold an item frame in your hand and walk the area once. The highlight outline will confirm exactly which frames are now invisible, so you do not accidentally hide a frame you meant to keep. This quick audit prevents the common mistake of losing a display piece you actually wanted visible.

Result

Your build looks cleaner, with only the frames you care about showing. Hidden frames still exist and still hold their items, so you can reveal them again any time for screenshots, events, or seasonal decorations.
