Reduce Visual Clutter While Building
Why Hide Outlines While Building
When placing blocks or working on detailed structures, the black selection outline can make it harder to see the exact shape and color of your build. Toggling it off gives you a clearer view of your work in progress.
Toggle Outlines On and Off as Needed
Press B to hide the outline when you need a clean view of your structure. You can still place and break blocks normally—the outline toggle only affects visibility, not functionality.
When you need to see which block you're pointing at (especially useful in tight spaces or when working with similar-looking blocks), press B again to restore the outline.
Workflow Tip
Many builders keep the outline hidden most of the time while building, then toggle it back on when they need to target a specific block or when switching to exploration mode. Since the toggle is just one keypress, you can switch between modes instantly without opening any menus.
