Troubleshoot Dark or Washed-Out Visuals

Check Shader is Active

Verify ToasterFX Shaders is selected in the Iris menu and shows as loaded. If the menu shows "No Shader" or another pack, switch back to ToasterFX. Restart your game if the change doesn't apply immediately.

Adjust Ambient Light Settings

If the world appears too dark, increase the ambient light slider in shader settings. If colors look washed out or oversaturated, reduce saturation or contrast slightly. These are the most common causes of visual issues.

Review Video Settings

Check that brightness in Minecraft's Video Settings is not set to minimum. Shader brightness and game brightness stack—adjust both if needed. Disable any conflicting visual mods or resource packs that might override shader colors.

Test in Different Lighting Conditions

Visuals change based on time of day and weather. Test your settings at dawn, noon, and night. If only one time looks wrong, the issue may be with sky tone settings rather than overall brightness. Caves should remain visible but darker than surface areas.
