Optimize Frame Rate While Using ToasterFX Shaders

Verify Iris Installation

Confirm that Iris is properly installed and ToasterFX Shaders is active. Open the Iris menu and check that the shader pack shows as loaded. Inactive shaders won't apply visual changes and may cause confusion about performance.

Reduce Optional Visual Features

ToasterFX is designed for low-end systems, but some optional enhancements can be toggled. Check the shader settings menu for toggles related to ambient occlusion, parallax effects, or shadow detail. Disabling these won't remove the core lighting improvements but frees up GPU resources.

Lower Render Distance if Needed

Shaders interact with render distance—if frames drop, reduce your render distance setting in Video Settings. Start at 8-12 chunks and increase gradually until you find your system's limit.

Monitor Performance

Use F3 debug screen to watch FPS. ToasterFX should maintain smooth gameplay on systems where vanilla Minecraft runs well. If performance degrades significantly, verify no conflicting mods are installed.
