Adjust Shader Brightness and Contrast for Your Setup

Access Shader Settings

Open the Iris shader options menu while in-game by pressing the key bound to shader settings (default varies by launcher). Look for the ToasterFX Shaders profile in your active shaders list.

Modify Lighting Parameters

Locate the brightness and contrast sliders in the shader menu. ToasterFX provides adjustable ambient light intensity—increase this if your world feels too dark, or decrease it if you prefer deeper shadows. The contrast slider helps balance block visibility without affecting overall frame rate.

Fine-Tune for Your Hardware

If you're on a low-end system, start with default settings and make small adjustments. Reducing brightness slightly can actually improve performance on potato setups. Test changes in different biomes and times of day—morning light behaves differently than noon or dusk.

Save Your Preferences

Once satisfied, your settings persist automatically. If you switch between worlds or reinstall, export your shader config file to preserve your custom values.
