Create Tips for a Modpack

Plan Your Tip Content

Before adding tips, decide what information your players need. Consider:

• Key mod features they should know about
• Common mistakes or gotchas
• Progression milestones
• Entertaining or thematic messages
• Safety warnings (like dangerous dimensions or mobs)

Write Clear and Concise Tips

Keep each tip brief—loading screens have limited space. Use simple language and avoid jargon unless your audience is familiar with it. Aim for one idea per tip.

Add Tips to the Config

Open the Tips Mod config file and add your tips to the list. Follow the existing format exactly to avoid errors.

Test Thoroughly

Load multiple worlds to ensure tips appear randomly and display correctly. Check that:

• Text is readable and properly colored
• Tips don't obstruct important UI elements
• Messages are appropriate for your modpack's theme

Update Regularly

As your modpack evolves, add new tips to reflect changes. Remove outdated information to keep tips relevant and helpful.
