How to Build Your First Bridge to a New Island
Gather Your Materials
Before crossing any gap, collect enough blocks from your starting island. Wood planks, dirt, and stone are ideal—they're quick to place and won't drain your resources. Aim for at least a full stack before attempting a crossing.
Plan Your Route
Look at the island you want to reach. Identify the shortest path and check for any monsters or hazards visible from a distance. If the gap is very wide, you may need to build upward first to gain a better angle.
Build Safely
Start from solid ground and place blocks one at a time as you move forward. Always place a block *before* stepping on it—never jump into empty space. If you're building over a long distance, consider creating a handrail or wall on one side to prevent accidental falls.
Test Before Committing
Once your bridge reaches the far island, walk across slowly to confirm it's stable. Check that you have enough hunger to make the crossing; if your food bar is low, eat before attempting the journey.
Retrieve Your Blocks
After reaching the new island safely, you can mine your bridge blocks from the far side and reuse them elsewhere—this conserves resources for future crossings.
