Add Custom Regions with JSON and Audio Files

Prepare Your Files

To create a custom region, you'll need a JSON configuration file and one or more .ogg audio files for the music tracks.

Setup Steps

1. Create a new folder in the mod's custom regions directory with your region's name

2. Create a JSON file that defines your region's properties, including:

  • Region name and identifier
  • References to your .ogg music files
  • Threat level thresholds (if using dynamic music)
  • Day/night variant settings (optional)

3. Place your .ogg audio files in the same folder or a designated music subdirectory

4. Restart the game to load your custom region

5. Assign biomes to your new region through biome configuration

Audio Requirements

  • Use .ogg format for compatibility
  • Ensure audio quality matches the mod's existing tracks
  • Test tracks in-game to verify they loop smoothly and play at appropriate volumes
