Fill Water Bottles Without Wasting Water Blocks

The Problem

Using a glass bottle directly on a water source block will consume that block entirely. In modpacks with this mod, this can quickly deplete your water supply.

The Solution: Use Cauldrons

1. Fill a cauldron with water using a bucket

2. Right-click the cauldron with an empty glass bottle

3. The bottle fills, but the cauldron remains intact

4. Repeat as needed—the cauldron only empties after multiple fills

When You Must Use Source Blocks

If cauldrons aren't available:

• Only fill bottles when absolutely necessary
• Gather multiple bottles at once to minimize trips
• Consider whether you can use alternative liquids or items instead

Pro Tip

Keep cauldrons near crafting areas, brewing stands, or anywhere you regularly need water bottles. This habit prevents wasteful consumption and ensures your water sources last longer.
