Explore the Alpine Valleys and Glaciers
Discovering the Valley System
The map contains deep valleys carved between the major peaks. Leave the main trail and venture into these valleys to experience the full scale of the terrain. The valleys feature green alpine meadows, scattered pine forests, and flowing rock glaciers. Each valley has its own character shaped by the real LiDAR data used to create the map.
Observing the Glaciers
Look for the rock glaciers—these are slow-moving masses of rock and ice that flow down the mountainsides. They appear as distinctive ridged formations on the slopes. Walk alongside them to appreciate their scale and the geological processes they represent. The glaciers provide a stark contrast to the green meadows.
Meadow Exploration
Wander through the open alpine meadows scattered throughout the map. These flat or gently rolling areas offer respite from steep climbing and provide excellent vantage points for viewing the surrounding peaks. The meadows are dotted with pine trees and small alpine lakes, creating scenic resting spots as you explore the wilderness.
