Setting Up a Base in an Abandoned House
Choosing Your Building
Walk through the town and identify a house that appeals to you. Look for buildings with intact walls, a roof, and enough interior space for storage and crafting. Corner houses or larger structures often provide more room to work with.
Preparing the Space
Once you've selected a house, clear out any debris or unwanted blocks to create open floor space. Remove doors if you want to redesign entrances, or keep them for atmosphere. Check the roof for holes and repair them with matching blocks to prevent mobs from entering at night.
Setting Up Essentials
Place a crafting table and furnace near the center of your main room for easy access. Create a storage area using chests or barrels along one wall. If the house has multiple rooms, dedicate one as a bedroom with a bed, and another as a workshop. Consider adding torches throughout to prevent hostile mob spawns and create a welcoming atmosphere.
Personalizing Your Base
Add decorative touches like item frames, paintings, or plants to make the space feel lived-in. You can modify the interior layout by adding walls, stairs, or platforms to create separate functional areas within the same building.
