Navigate the Map Without Freezing to Death
Plan Your Route Between Shelters
The map is designed as a series of interconnected frozen locations. Before venturing out, identify your current shelter and locate the nearest building. Moving between shelters during daylight (if the mod includes day/night cycles) reduces your exposure time.
Stay Warm While Traveling
Keep moving constantly—standing still in the cold will drain your warmth faster. Stick to paths that offer some wind protection, such as areas between buildings or natural terrain features. If you feel your temperature dropping dangerously, turn back to your last shelter rather than pushing forward to an unknown location.
Stock Your Shelters
As you explore, leave supplies (food, fuel, or warmth items) in each building you discover. This creates a chain of safe havens across the map. Mark mentally which buildings have the best insulation or fireplaces for future reference.
Use Interior Routes When Possible
Many buildings connect internally or are close enough to dash between. Prioritize moving through interiors where wind and cold exposure are minimized. The detailed block art often reveals windows and doorways that create natural pathways through the frozen world.
