Thaumic Augmentation Impetus System
Impetus is a new form of energy derived directly from Flux Rifts. It is more volatile than Vis and is used to power advanced machinery and weapons.
Energy States
- Low Charge: Safe to handle; used for basic rift manipulation and gauntlet charging.
- High Charge: Transmitted between machines via beams. High-charge beams will damage any entity that passes through them.
Key Machinery

| Impetus Generator | Converts Impetus into RF/FE power for use with other mods. |
| Impetus Drainer | Extracts Impetus directly from a nearby Flux Rift. |
| Impetus Matrix | A multiblock structure used to store large amounts of Impetus. Must be stabilized to prevent explosions. |
| Impetus Relay | Transmits Impetus beams between machines. |
| Impetus Diffuser | Wirelessly charges Impetus-powered items in the player's inventory. |
| Metaspatial Accumulator | Allows the player to 'pick up' a Flux Rift and store it in a Reinforced Jar. |
