Organize Multiple Languages in One Resource Pack

Planning Your Language Support

Before creating textures, decide which languages you want to support. Use standard Minecraft language codes:

  • en_us for English (US)
  • zh_cn for Simplified Chinese
  • ja_jp for Japanese
  • fr_fr for French
  • de_de for German

And many others matching Minecraft's language system.

Creating the Directory Structure

Organize all language folders under a single resource pack:

`

resourcepack/

├── assets/mymod/textures/

│ ├── en_us/

│ ├── zh_cn/

│ ├── ja_jp/

│ └── (other language folders)

└── pack.mcmeta

`

Maintaining Consistency

Keep the same subfolder structure inside each language folder. If you have en_us/entity/sign.png, also create zh_cn/entity/sign.png and ja_jp/entity/sign.png in the same relative paths. This ensures players see textures in the correct locations regardless of their language setting.
