Customize Elevation and Temperature Data Sources
Accessing Configuration Settings
Terrarium pulls real-world data from external sources. You can customize these sources by editing the mod's configuration file, typically found in your .minecraft/config folder.
Changing Data URLs
Modify these settings:
- ELEVATION_URL: Points to the height/topography data source
- TEMPERATURE_URL: Points to climate and biome data
Replace the default URLs with alternative data sources if you prefer different map accuracy or coverage.
Finding Alternative Data Sources
Look for publicly available elevation and climate datasets that provide tile-based access. Ensure new sources use compatible formats and coordinate systems.
Applying Changes
After editing configuration files, restart your game. New worlds will use the updated data sources. Existing worlds continue using the data they were generated with.
Troubleshooting
If tiles fail to download after changing URLs, verify the new source is accessible and returns data in the expected format.
