Understanding Zoom Levels

Zoom controls how much of Earth fits into your world. Lower zoom levels compress the planet into a smaller space, while higher zoom levels spread it out, making real geography more detailed and survival more challenging.

Setting Your Zoom Before Starting

When creating a new world, click the Customize button before entering the world. Adjust the zoom slider to your preference:

• Zoom 8–10: Recommended for survival mode. Provides manageable distances and recognizable biomes
• Zoom 11–13: For exploration and building projects. Spreads terrain across a larger area with more detail

Changing Zoom Mid-Game

Zoom is locked once your world generates. To use a different zoom level, you must create a new world.

Performance Considerations

Higher zoom levels require more tile downloads and processing. If your computer struggles, lower the zoom or ensure you have adequate storage for the cache directory.
