Switch Between Telescopic and Squishy Piston Animations

Accessing Animation Settings

Telepistons Mod lets you choose how pistons extend and retract. By default, pistons use the telescopic animation (seen in Bedrock Edition), but you can switch to a squishy alternative for a different visual effect.

Changing Your Preference

Open your mod configuration menu. Look for Telepistons settings—this is typically found in your mod config folder or accessible through a mod menu screen, depending on your loader setup.

Select your preferred animation style:

  • Telescopic: The piston arm extends smoothly outward in segments, like a telescope
  • Squishy: The piston arm compresses and stretches with a more organic, flexible appearance

Save your changes and restart your world or server for the new animation to take effect.

Testing Your Choice

Place a piston and power it with redstone to see your chosen animation in action. Both animations function identically—this is purely a visual preference. You can change this setting at any time without affecting existing builds or contraptions.
