Find Resources and Structures Faster in Forests
Improved Visibility Underground and Above
Taller Forests Mod raises tree canopies, which dramatically improves your ability to spot fallen logs, exposed ore, and structures hidden within dense woodland. Better sightlines mean you waste less time searching.
Spotting Resources
1. Scan forest floors — with leaves lifted higher, you can now see ground-level details from a distance
2. Locate fallen logs easily — wood blocks that would normally blend into low foliage now stand out clearly
3. Spot ore veins — exposed stone and ore become visible through the clearer canopy gaps
4. Find structures — woodland mansions, villages, and other generated structures are easier to locate when you're not blocked by leaf walls
Effective Searching
Walk or ride through forests methodically rather than climbing trees to scout. The improved headroom means you can move at ground level without losing visibility. Use higher vantage points (hills, mountains) to scan across multiple forest biomes at once—your view won't be interrupted by low canopy.
This works across all biome types the mod affects: standard forests, flower forests, birch woodlands, taiga, and snowy taiga.
