Build and Mine Effectively Under Forest Canopies

Creating Space for Construction

Taller Forests Mod's raised tree canopies give you practical building room beneath them. You can construct bases, farms, and mining operations without constantly fighting low leaf blocks.

Building Under Trees

1. Choose a forest clearing — large open areas under tall trees provide the most unobstructed space

2. Build at ground level — you now have full headroom to construct structures without leaves interfering

3. Create mining shafts — dig downward without leaf blocks blocking your workspace above

4. Set up farms — plant crops and build animal pens on clear forest floors

5. Establish bases — construct shelters and storage areas using the natural canopy as overhead cover

Advantages Over Open Ground

Forest canopies provide natural camouflage and weather protection for your builds. The raised leaves mean you won't accidentally break foliage while building, and mobs have clearer sightlines too—making defense easier to plan.

Birch woodlands and flower forests offer particularly open spaces for large projects. Taiga and snowy taiga biomes work well for survival bases where the tree cover provides concealment.
