Prepare Your Village Defense Against Armed Pillagers

Fortify Before Raids Arrive

Armed Pillagers pose a serious threat to your village. Unlike standard crossbow-wielding Pillagers, these mobs carry firearms with improved range and damage potential. Prepare defensive structures before a raid spawns.

Start by building walls around your village perimeter using blast-resistant blocks like obsidian or deepslate. Position these barriers at least 2-3 blocks high to block line-of-sight from ground-level shooters. Place your villagers inside protected buildings with roofs to shield them from incoming fire.

Create Safe Zones

Build covered trenches or bunkers where you can take shelter during combat. Use solid blocks overhead to prevent shots from above. Stock these positions with healing items and ammunition for your own weapons.

Consider creating elevated defensive platforms where you can return fire with better positioning than the Pillagers. The mod maintains loose accuracy on enemy shots, so height advantage and cover are critical. Keep escape routes clear so you can retreat if overwhelmed by multiple armed Pillagers attacking simultaneously.

Test your defenses by triggering a raid and observing where Pillagers position themselves and how their shots land.
