Prepare for PvP by Assessing Opponent Latency
Pre-Fight Reconnaissance
Before engaging in PvP combat, open the Tab list and locate your opponent's ping value. This gives you crucial information about the network conditions you'll face in the fight.
Understand the Advantage
If your opponent has significantly higher ping than you, they will see your position with a delay. This means you can land hits that appear to miss on their screen, giving you a tactical advantage. Conversely, if they have lower ping, they'll see you more accurately and react faster.
Adjust Your Strategy
Against high-ping opponents, aggressive rushing tactics work well since they'll struggle to respond in time. Against low-ping opponents, use hit-and-run tactics or maintain distance to avoid their quick responses.
Account for Ping Differences
Large ping gaps (100+ ms difference) create noticeable gameplay disparities. A player with 50 ms ping has a clear advantage over someone with 200 ms. Use this knowledge to decide whether to engage or retreat, and inform your team of latency conditions.
