Monitor Ping Stability During Long Gaming Sessions
Check Ping Periodically
Throughout your play session, regularly press Tab to view the current ping values. This helps you track whether your connection remains stable or fluctuates over time.
Identify Connection Spikes
If your ping suddenly jumps from normal levels to much higher values, you're experiencing a connection spike. This can cause temporary lag, rubberbanding, or delayed block placement. Note when these spikes occur—they may correlate with specific activities on your network.
Recognize Patterns
Watch for trends: Does your ping increase at certain times? Does it spike when other players join? Does it worsen during intensive server events? Patterns help identify whether the issue is your connection, the server, or network congestion.
Take Action
If you notice persistent high ping or frequent spikes, close background applications consuming bandwidth, restart your router, or contact your internet provider. For server-side issues, report the observed ping data to administrators. Stable ping below 100 ms is ideal for smooth gameplay.
