Make Lanterns Swing During Storms

Enable Weather-Based Swinging

By default, Swinging Lanterns Mod responds to rain and thunder by increasing the intensity of light movement. Lanterns will sway more dramatically when storms pass through your world, creating a dynamic visual effect that matches the weather.

Configure Storm Intensity

Open the mod's configuration file to adjust how much weather affects your lanterns:

1. Locate the config folder in your Minecraft directory

2. Find the Swinging Lanterns settings file

3. Look for weather or storm-related options

4. Increase the multiplier value to make lanterns swing harder during rain and thunder

5. Decrease it if the effect feels too extreme

6. Save and reload your world

Tips for Best Results

Storm swinging works best when you have multiple lanterns clustered together—the collective movement creates an immersive, windy atmosphere. Place lanterns on roofs, under eaves, and around outdoor structures to see the full effect. The swinging is purely visual and won't affect gameplay, so you can enjoy storms without performance concerns.
