Animate Metal Chains with Lanterns

The mod includes an optional feature that makes the chains or metal links holding your lanterns move and sway along with the lights themselves.

Turn On Chain Movement

1. Open your Swinging Lanterns configuration file

2. Find the option for chain animation, moving chains, or link movement

3. Set this option to enabled or true

4. Save your configuration

5. Reload your world or restart Minecraft

Visual Impact

When enabled, the chains connecting lanterns to their mounting points will flex and bend as the lanterns swing, creating a more realistic and immersive effect. The chains move in sync with the lanterns, enhancing the sense of weight and natural motion. This feature is optional because it requires slightly more processing power, though the performance impact remains minimal.

Performance Consideration

If you have many lanterns in your world and notice any lag after enabling chain animation, you can disable it again without affecting the lantern swinging itself. The feature is purely visual and works on all server types.
