Disable Swinging for Indoor Lanterns

Stop Lights from Moving Inside Buildings

If you want lanterns inside your home to stay still while outdoor ones sway, the mod provides an option to disable movement for protected spaces.

Configure Indoor Behavior

1. Open your Swinging Lanterns configuration file

2. Search for an option related to indoor, interior, or protected lighting

3. Enable the setting that prevents swinging in enclosed spaces

4. Save your changes and reload the world

How It Works

When enabled, the mod detects whether a lantern is inside a structure (typically by checking for solid blocks above) and disables swinging for those lights. This creates a visual distinction between outdoor and indoor lighting—outdoor lanterns move naturally with the wind, while interior lights remain stable and realistic.

Note that this setting is approximate and may not catch every edge case. If a lantern on a roofed porch still swings when you'd prefer it not to, you can manually disable swinging for individual lanterns through the configuration, or adjust the detection sensitivity in the config file.
