Guide: Attacking Mobs Through Grass

How Swinging Through Grass Works

Tall grass, ferns, and similar plants normally block your attacks. When you swing at a mob standing behind or inside foliage, the plant absorbs the hit instead of the mob, so your weapon never connects. This mod changes that behavior: attacks pass through plants so your weapon reaches whatever is hiding in the foliage.

The mechanic is passive. There is nothing to configure or activate — once the mod is installed, your normal attack swing simply ignores plants as obstacles. Aim at the mob as you normally would, even if grass or ferns sit between you and it, and the hit lands.

This is most useful in biomes with dense ground cover, where mobs are easy to lose in the vegetation. It also helps in tall grass around your base, where a creeper or zombie can stand partly hidden and shrug off your first swing.

Only plants are affected. Solid blocks still stop your attacks as usual, so you cannot hit through walls, terrain, or other opaque obstacles.
