Surface Mushrooms Mod Guide

Placing Mushrooms Anywhere

Surface Mushrooms Mod removes the light-level requirement that normally governs where mushrooms can stay planted. In vanilla Minecraft, mushrooms pop out of the ground when the light level gets too high, which forces you to build dark rooms or shaded corners if you want them as decoration. This mod changes that behavior so mushrooms can be placed and survive on the surface, even in full sunlight.

To use it, simply place a mushroom on a valid surface block as you normally would. It will remain there instead of breaking, no matter how bright the area is. You do not need special blocks, shade, or enclosed spaces.

This opens up several practical uses. You can decorate outdoor gardens, build fairy forests, or add whimsical landscaping without hiding your mushrooms away. It also makes surface-level mushroom farms possible, so harvesting is easier and does not require a dark setup. The mod is small and focused, changing only this one mechanic.
