Netherite Shield

Netherite Shield

The Netherite Shield is a late-game upgrade to the standard shield, added by the Superior Shields Mod. It serves the same core purpose as a regular shield: holding it up blocks incoming attacks and projectiles from the direction you are facing. What sets it apart is durability and protection — it is built to outlast and outperform the standard shield, making it a worthwhile investment once you have reached the Netherite tier of gear.

Because it is a direct upgrade, you use it the same way you use any shield: equip it in your offhand and raise it to block. The mod does not change how blocking works, only how well the shield holds up under repeated hits.

If you already rely on a shield in combat, swapping to the Netherite Shield is a natural next step once Netherite materials are available to you.
