Improve Underwater Visibility While Swimming

Enable and configure underwater fog

The mod includes optional depth-based fog that thickens as you dive deeper, simulating realistic underwater visibility. This can make deep exploration more atmospheric or challenging.

Steps:

1. Open the mod configuration

2. Enable the Underwater Fog option

3. Adjust Deep Fog Distance to control how far you can see at maximum ocean depth

4. Swim down into deep water to test the fog thickness

5. Increase the fog distance value if you want better visibility; decrease it for more immersion

Disable fog if it interferes with gameplay

If underwater fog makes navigation difficult or conflicts with other mods, simply toggle Underwater Fog off in the configuration. The water color depth effect will remain active and still help you read terrain from the surface. Fog settings are independent from the core depth-coloring feature, so you can use one without the other.
