Building Industrial Piping Networks
Setting Up Your Pipe Layout
Substrate pipes are decorative blocks designed to create the appearance of industrial infrastructure. They come in six metal varieties: Copper, Iron, Aluminum, Steel, Cast Iron, and Rusty. Each has a distinct visual style suitable for different aesthetic themes.
Construction Tips
Pipes can be placed in any orientation to form walls, floors, or three-dimensional structures. Combine them with other Substrate blocks like beams and plates to create convincing factory or steampunk builds.
Best practices:
- Use Rusty pipes for weathered, abandoned industrial areas
- Mix Steel and Cast Iron for a heavy machinery appearance
- Copper pipes work well for Victorian or magical-themed builds
- Layer pipes with gratings to add visual depth
Since these are creative-mode only blocks, you can freely experiment with placement without resource concerns. Try creating vertical pipe runs along building exteriors, horizontal conduit systems across ceilings, or decorative pipe frameworks as structural supports. The variety of metal finishes allows you to tell a story about your build's age and purpose through material choice alone.
