Navigate the Poolrooms Without Getting Lost

The Poolrooms are designed as infinite tiled chambers that repeat and loop. Without landmarks, it's easy to circle back to where you started. Use torches, wool blocks, or any distinctive colored material to mark doorways and intersections as you explore. Place markers on one side of passages so you can identify which direction you came from.

Map the Water Levels

Pay attention to how water depth changes between rooms. Some chambers have shallow wading areas, while others drop into deep pools. Memorize which hallways lead to flooded sections versus dry corridors. This helps you predict what's ahead and plan your route.

Use Vertical Navigation

Look for staircases, ladders, or elevated platforms. Moving up or down between levels gives you a better sense of the structure's layout and can reveal new passages. Climbing to higher points also lets you see further across large chambers.

Stay Near Walls

When swimming through open pools, keep one hand on the wall. This prevents you from drifting into the center of massive rooms where orientation becomes impossible. Wall-hugging also helps you find exits more reliably.
