Create a Custom Sidebar Style

Setting Up Your Style File

Styled Sidebars uses configuration files to define how your sidebar looks and behaves. Create a new style configuration in your mod's config folder with a descriptive name.

Defining Sidebar Properties

Your style file controls:

  • Display type: Choose between static (always visible), scrolling (cycles through lines), or paged (manual page navigation)
  • Visual formatting: Set colors, text alignment, and borders using Minecraft formatting codes
  • Update frequency: Define how often the sidebar refreshes to match scoreboard changes
  • Line count: Specify how many scoreboard entries display at once

Applying Text Placeholders

Integrate dynamic content using Text Placeholder API. Reference player stats, scores, or custom variables within your style configuration. This lets you display real-time information like health, level, or custom counters alongside static labels.

Testing Your Style

Use the style-switching command to load your new configuration in-game. Watch how your sidebar renders with live scoreboard data. Adjust formatting and properties as needed until the appearance matches your vision.
