Adding a Header and Footer to the TAB Menu

What Header and Footer Do

The header appears above the list of player names and the footer below it. They are the easiest way to show server-wide information at a glance — a welcome message, your Discord, the current event, or a rules reminder.

Writing the Text

1. Open the mod's config file on the server.

2. Find the header and footer entries. Each accepts multiple lines, so you can build a small block of text rather than a single sentence.

3. Type your lines. Keep them short — the TAB menu is narrow, and long lines wrap awkwardly or get cut off.

4. If the config supports colour codes or formatting, apply them per line so the header stands out from the footer.

5. Save and restart the server.

Making It Useful, Not Noisy

A header that changes (for example, showing a rotating tip) draws more attention than static text. A footer is a good permanent home for contact info or a website. Avoid filling both with the same message — players read the TAB menu constantly, so keep it informative and brief. After restarting, open the TAB menu yourself to confirm the line breaks land where you want them.
