Structory Data Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I know if Structory is actually working?
Load into a fresh world and explore outward from spawn; new structures generate during world generation, so you won't see them in chunks you've already loaded. If you fly around for a while and find nothing, check that the data pack is enabled in the world's data pack list.
Do Structory structures spawn in already-generated chunks?
No. Structures are placed during chunk generation, so only chunks generated after the data pack is active will contain them. To see them in an old world, you need to travel into unexplored territory.
Why can't I find any Structory structures near my spawn?
Structory structures are spread out and have their own spacing and separation rules, so they won't be packed densely around spawn. Travel further out, and consider using commands like /locate to search for a specific structure if you know its ID.
Can I use /locate to find Structory structures?
Yes, if the structure is registered with a locateable ID, /locate structure will point you to the nearest one. Tab-completion after typing /locate structure will show you which Structory structures are available to search for.
Is Structory compatible with other structure mods and data packs?
Generally yes, since it adds its own structures rather than replacing vanilla ones, but two packs that edit the same structure sets or biomes can conflict. If structures stop appearing after adding another pack, test them one at a time to find the clash.
Will Structory break my existing world or vanilla structures?
It doesn't remove or overwrite vanilla structures, so villages, temples, and the like still generate normally. As with any worldgen data pack, back up your world before adding it, since removing it later can leave orphaned structures behind.
Does Structory work on a server with multiple players?
Yes, it's a data pack, so it runs server-side and all players see the same structures without needing to install anything client-side. Just make sure it's in the world's datapacks folder on the server, not a client mods folder.
Can I remove Structory after I've been using it?
You can remove the data pack, but any Structory structures already generated in your world will remain as-is. New chunks simply won't spawn them anymore, which can create a visible cutoff at your exploration border.
Are Structory structures dangerous or do they have mobs?
Some structures contain hostile mobs or traps, while others are purely decorative ruins, so treat every new building cautiously until you've scouted it. Bring torches, a weapon, and don't dig straight into suspicious floors.
Will Structory hurt my game's performance?
Data packs that add structures have minimal impact on FPS because they only affect world generation, not rendering. You may notice slightly longer chunk generation when exploring new areas, but normal gameplay performance is largely unaffected.
