Combining Snowballs with Other Weapons for Hybrid Combat

Softening Targets Before Melee

Throw a snowball to apply slowness, then close in with a sword or axe while the mob moves slowly. This gives you time to land multiple critical hits without taking as much damage.

Ranged and Melee Rotation

1. Open combat at range with 2–3 snowballs

2. Close the distance while the mob is slowed

3. Switch to melee weapon for damage

4. Back away if health drops and repeat

This hybrid approach is especially effective against tough mobs like Endermen or Wither skeletons, where raw damage output matters.

Synergy with Bows

Snowballs complement bow usage well. Use snowballs for crowd control and slowness, then switch to arrows for finishing blows. The slowness effect makes it easier to land arrow shots on moving targets.

Armor and Durability

Snowballs deal minimal damage themselves, so they don't replace your primary weapon—they enhance it. Use them strategically to control the fight's pace and reduce incoming damage, extending your armor's durability and your survival chances.
