Understand Water Physics and Waterfalls
How Water Flows Differently
This mod changes Minecraft's water behavior to be more realistic. Water no longer spreads flat in all directions—instead, it follows elevation and flows downhill naturally.
Key Physics Changes:
1. Water maintains speed when falling over blocks, creating cascading waterfalls instead of flat pools
2. Rivers develop real currents that push items, boats, and players toward the ocean
3. Water at different elevations creates separate lakes and ponds rather than connecting everywhere
4. Falling water produces white mist and foam particles that scale with fall height
Waterfall Behavior
Waterfalls are visually enhanced and functionally different:
- Mist particles become more visible the higher the fall
- You can see waterfall foam from far away without performance impact
- Small bubbles appear on calm water surfaces
- Players can climb small waterfalls without sinking, allowing vertical navigation
Practical Applications
Use these physics for:
- Creating natural-looking water features in your builds
- Designing efficient water transport systems that follow terrain
- Building waterfalls as scenic focal points—they look better and perform well
- Navigating mountainous terrain using cascading water as pathways
