Status Effect Bars Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I turn on the status effect duration bars?
The bars appear automatically once the mod is installed — there's nothing to enable in-game. Just drink a potion or stand near a beacon and the bars will show up under your effect icons and in your inventory.
Why aren't the bars showing up on my effect icons?
Make sure you actually have an active status effect; the bars only render alongside effects that are currently applied. If you're using other HUD mods, they may be drawing over the effect icons and hiding the bars.
Do the bars show up in my inventory too?
Yes. The mod adds duration bars both to the effect icons in the top-right of your screen and to the effect list shown next to your inventory tab.
What do the bars actually represent?
Each bar fills or drains to reflect how much time is left on that specific effect relative to its total duration. A nearly empty bar means the effect is about to expire.
Can I see the exact number of seconds remaining?
The mod is designed around visual bars rather than numeric countdowns, so you read duration by how full the bar looks. For precise timing, watch the bar shrink as the effect runs out.
Do the bars work with beacon effects, not just potions?
Yes. Any status effect that appears in your effect list — including beacon-granted effects — gets a duration bar.
Is this mod compatible with other HUD or inventory mods?
It generally works alongside most HUD and inventory mods, but mods that reposition or restyle the effect icons can overlap the bars. If bars look misplaced, check your HUD mod's effect icon settings.
Will the bars cause lag or lower my FPS?
No. The bars are a lightweight overlay drawn only when you have active effects, so performance impact is negligible even with several effects running.
Can I move or resize the bars?
The bars are tied to the position of the effect icons, so they follow wherever your HUD places those icons. There is no separate position setting for the bars themselves.
How do I use the bars to time my potion refills?
Watch the bar for the effect you want to keep active and drink your next potion when it gets low, before it empties. This lets you refresh effects without opening your inventory or losing uptime.
