Create Custom Item Textures Using StationAPI's Renderer
Preparing Your Texture Assets
StationAPI includes an advanced renderer that supports custom textures for items and blocks. Prepare your texture files as PNG images with dimensions that match Minecraft's texture format (typically 16×16 pixels for items, though higher resolutions are supported).
Place your texture files in the correct asset directory structure within your mod's resources folder. StationAPI recognizes textures when they're organized following the standard Minecraft resource pack layout.
Linking Textures to Your Items
When you register a custom item, specify the texture path in your item's initialization. StationAPI's renderer will automatically load and apply the texture when the item is rendered in inventory, in-hand, or on the ground.
If your item needs multiple texture states (like different durability levels or variants), define separate texture paths for each state and switch between them based on item metadata or NBT data.
Test by obtaining your item in-game and viewing it from different angles to confirm the texture displays correctly without stretching or tiling issues.
