Give Starter Kits to Returning Players

Understanding Default Behavior

By default, the Starter Kits Mod only awards kits to players on their first join. Dying and respawning won't trigger a new kit, and returning players who have already joined won't receive items again.

Resetting Player Data

If you need to give kits to returning players, you must reset their first-join status:

1. Stop your server

2. Navigate to the world's data folder (usually world/playerdata/ or similar)

3. Locate and delete the player data file corresponding to the player you want to reset

4. Restart the server

When that player rejoins, the mod will treat them as new and award the starter kit.

Server-Wide Reset

For a complete reset affecting all players, back up your world first, then remove the relevant player tracking data. This is a drastic measure—use only when necessary.

Alternative Approach

Consider using commands or other mods to manually distribute items to specific players rather than resetting data, as this preserves player progress and statistics.
