Customize the Starter Kit Contents
Accessing the Configuration File
The Starter Kits Mod stores its settings in a configuration file located in your mod's config folder. Navigate to .minecraft/config/ and find the Starter Kits configuration file (typically named starterkits.toml or similar).
Editing Kit Items
Open the configuration file with a text editor. You'll find a section listing the default starter items: wooden tools, leather armor, cooked beef, and the empty map.
To customize:
- Remove items: Comment out or delete the line containing that item
- Add items: Insert new lines following the existing format, specifying the item ID and quantity
- Change quantities: Modify the number value next to each item (e.g., change
cooked_beef: 16tocooked_beef: 32)
Applying Changes
Save the file and restart your server or world. New players joining for the first time will now receive your customized kit. Existing players won't receive new items—kits only distribute on first spawn.
Tips
Use valid Minecraft item IDs when adding new items. Test your configuration on a test world before deploying to a live server to ensure all items are recognized.
