Troubleshoot Lighting Issues After Installing the Mod

Verify the Mod is Active

Load a world with Create machines. Look for areas where you previously saw lighting bugs—dark patches around rotating parts, flickering shadows, or unlit spots inside lit rooms. These should now display correctly.

Check for Conflicts

If you still see lighting problems:

  • Open your mods folder and search for "Phosphor." If it exists, delete it immediately. This mod directly conflicts with Starlight and will prevent the lighting engine from working properly.
  • Restart your game completely after removing Phosphor.

Reload Your World

If you're playing an existing world, the lighting engine may need to recalculate chunks. This happens automatically as you move around. Areas you haven't visited recently may take a moment to update correctly.

Visual Confirmation

Create a simple rotating machine (like a water wheel or mechanical press) in a dark room. Watch how light behaves around the moving parts. With the mod working correctly, shadows should update smoothly as the machine moves, with no dark spots or lag.

If problems persist after removing Phosphor and restarting, verify you have the correct mod version for your game version.
