Set Up a Multiplayer Server with Better Lighting Performance

Why Use This on a Server

Large multiplayer worlds with many Create machines can lag because the server struggles to calculate lighting for all those moving parts. This mod speeds up those calculations significantly, making the experience smoother for everyone.

Server Installation

Add the mod file to your server's mods folder, just like you would for any other server-side mod. Restart the server. The new lighting engine will activate for all connected players.

Player Requirements

Players joining your server do not need to install this mod on their own computers. The lighting fixes happen on the server side, so all players benefit automatically. This is especially useful if you're running a public server or playing with friends who don't want to manage extra mods.

Performance Gains

You should notice:

  • Reduced server tick time when rendering light updates
  • Smoother performance during large machine operations
  • Better stability in worlds with extensive Create contraptions

Compatibility Check

Make sure Phosphor is not installed on your server, as it will conflict with this mod.
