Back Up and Restore Your SQLite Database
Create Regular Backups
SQLite databases are single files, making backups straightforward. Locate your .db file (commonly named dynmap.db, data.db, or similar depending on which mod created it) and copy it to a backup location.
1. Stop your server completely before backing up
2. Copy the database file to an external drive, cloud storage, or backup folder
3. Include a timestamp in the backup filename for easy version tracking
4. Restart your server
Restore from Backup
If your database becomes corrupted or you need to revert to an earlier state:
1. Stop the server
2. Replace the current database file with your backup copy
3. Restart the server
Because SQLite stores everything in a single file, restoration is as simple as file replacement. No complex database commands or external tools are needed. Regular backups protect against data loss and allow you to recover from accidental changes or corruption.
