Using Spyglass Astronomy Mod
Stargazing with the Spyglass
The Spyglass Astronomy Mod is entirely client-side, so it works on any server without installation there. Planets and stars are procedurally generated from your world seed, meaning every player in the same world sees the same sky.
To begin, hold zoom as you would with a vanilla spyglass. While zoomed, press the middle mouse button to cycle observation modes:
- Vanilla mode – the standard Minecraft spyglass view.
- Constellation mode (amethyst) – draw and select constellations.
- Star mode (emerald) – select individual stars or planets.
In commands, comets are treated as planets, so the same selection rules apply to them.
Beyond observing, you can name celestial bodies and build your own lore around them. Constellations you draw are yours to define, letting you shape the night sky however you like.
