Adjust Shadow Softness and Darkness

Access Shader Settings

Open the shader options menu while in-game by pressing the designated key (usually found in your controls menu under "Shader Settings"). Look for the settings panel that appears on your screen.

Modify Shadow Parameters

Locate the shadow-related sliders in the settings menu. Spring Chun Shaders provides controls for:

  • Shadow Softness: Increase this value to make shadows blend more smoothly into lit areas, creating a gentler, more diffused appearance. Decrease it for sharper shadow edges.
  • Shadow Darkness: Adjust how dark shadows appear in your world. Lower values create lighter, more subtle shadows that maintain the shader's cheerful aesthetic. Higher values deepen shadows for more contrast.

Apply and Test

Changes apply in real-time. Walk around your world—particularly in areas with trees, buildings, or terrain features—to see how your adjustments affect the overall lighting mood. Experiment with different combinations until the shadow balance matches your preferred visual style.

Save Your Preferences

Once satisfied, confirm your settings are saved through the shader menu. Your configuration will persist across game sessions.
