Configure Plugin Settings and Permissions

Locate Configuration Files

After a plugin runs for the first time, it typically generates a configuration file in your server's config folder. Look for a folder or file matching the plugin's name.

Edit Plugin Configuration

1. Open the plugin's configuration file (usually HOCON or YAML format)

2. Adjust settings like enable/disable features, message text, or gameplay values

3. Save the file

4. Restart the server or use the plugin's reload command if available

Set Up Permissions

Sponge uses a permission system to control what players can do. Most servers use a permission plugin (like LuckPerms) alongside Sponge. Assign permissions to players or groups based on your plugin's documentation—permissions typically follow a format like pluginname.command.action.

Check your plugin's documentation for its specific permission nodes. Some plugins work without explicit permission setup, while others require careful configuration to function properly.
